That's Random.

I've been of legal drinking age for 10 years and had never open/tried to open a bottle of wine. I've drank the "mom juice" before but I was always intimidated by the act of removing the cork. Last week I was making dinner and it called for some white wine. I called my mom to see if she had any errands to run and she said "no, why?" and I told her I wanted her to stop by and open a bottle of wine for me. She offered to have my dad come over to do it and I realized that is just silly. She recommended I look online - brilliant! I watched a video on youtube and opened my first bottle of wine and I used one of the old school kind of openers, not the "easy" openers. I was pretty proud of myself. ;)

Next goal: opening a champagne bottle

WHAT!? I can't believe you had never opened a bottle of wine. That's amazing (and totally random). Good post :)

I know, its totally strange, I get it. :) I feel like its a big responsibility and if I screw it up, I could ruin a bottle wine for our guests. Who likes bits of cork swimming in their wine? I have issues, clearly. ;)

Your new goal should say "open a bottle of champagne without poking someones eye out" like I almost did to ashley yesterday! Lol

Haaa!! Great post!! And FYI, the key to opening champange... ALWAYS put a towel over the top/cork... its helps get grip on the cork to pull it out - and stops the cork from "poking someone's eye out" as Jen Said!

Total Alyssa! :-) I'm VERY proud of you! Opening a wine bottle the "old-school" way is like way hard. For me at least. Haha.
