Wine tasting with friends!

A Very Special Supper Club.

Last month, we hosted Supper Club. We invited the Strombergs for their first Supper Club experience.

I'm not really a fish person, but Rob's halibut was pretty delish.

Everyone.

Nobody puts baby in the corner! Wait...look up at the picture I just posted. See the lovely lady in the gray sweatshirt with her hair up in a pony? That's our good friend Maryanne. You might not recognize her because she normally has every little hair strand perfectly flat ironed and layed flawlessly down her shoulders and her cute little Ann Taylor Loft tops to match her designer jeans. I'm not saying my good friend Maryanne has seen better days but something was a little....off. Oh and she declined wine. But thats ok because she is PREGNANT!!

I've been wanting to post this but she wanted to keep it on the downlow and I totally get that. I think she is about 17 weeks and should find out the gender soon! I can't wait!

After dinner and the very exciting news, we celebrated with root beer floats.

Labor Day Weekend.

We spent Labor Day weekend at the beach with the Beiers and Remmicks.

The weekend was filled with a little golf, some walking and playing on the beach, a ton of bad food eating, a major victory for the women's Pictionary team and a lot of laughs.

We also should have had a technology intervention but that didn't happen. There were iphones, blackberrys, laptops, ipads and portable dvd players that came along for the weekend. Here is Melissa and Dorothy in a "Words" tournament.

I think the Remmick boys had fun.

Charlie touched the sand and ocean for the first time that weekend. The water was coooooold.

On our last night, we headed to Margaritaville.

Happy 1st Birthday, Annabelle!

Our friend's Mike and Sarah have a daughter, Annabelle, and she just turned one on Friday. Yesterday was her birthday party and it was a luau themed party because they are leaving for Hawaii in two weeks (lucky ducks!).

We happened to have two tropical outfits that we recently got at Janie and Jack (you have to have a back up when your child spit up episodes competes with the likes of the Bellagio fountain in Las Vegas). Here is Charlie and I before we left for the par-tay.

I'm not sure what this is all about but my sister's friend Jamie has a daughter who used to do this too. Anyone know why kids do this?

Abendessen Keule

That's Supper Club in German. We hosted Supper Club this month and Rob made his friend Paul's famous German Meatballs and Dumplings. Everyone was able to make it except for Brad who was watching his and Jen's daughter who wasn't feeling well.

Meatballs were rolled, now waiting for the broth to boil.

5.) Pack Alyssa's bag for hospital (I decided against packing a baby bag - I think his stuff will fit in my bag)
6.) Pack Rob's bag for hospital
8.) Get all the wall decor up in the baby's room (can't start until #2 and #3 are done)
10.) Have carseat inspected by fire department or police department to make sure its installed properly (had it inspected by friend’s husband who is a police officer)
11.) Get a good supply of wipes from costco and detergent (from Target)
19.) Make or buy wall letters (I want to put up letters that spell out his name, I think I might try to make them)
24.) Go to Christmas in the Park with friends
28.) At least 1 more date night with Jen and Brad
35.) Get toilet fixed


Pictures from #24 - Christmas in the Park with Maryanne and Brian and Jesslie (Jess and Les). Dorothy and Keith couldn't go because Keith's company's Christmas party was that night. The party was right by Christmas in the Park (the Fairmont) and we were thinking of crashing the party but we luckily didn't have to embarass them and ran into them at the hotel.
