Buddy's New B*tch

Let me introduce Buddy's new girlfriend: Hannah. Buddy and Hannah met yesterday for the first time for a doggie play date. Hannah's owners are our friends Maryanne and Brian. They loved each other from the start. I posted some of the best wrestling pics.

The Cantankerous Fish

Went to The Cantankerous Fish today which is a restaurant in downtown Mountain View with my old boss and old coworker. It was yummy, definately recommend it. I don't love fish, but I got a spinach salad with candied pecans, green apples and warmed goat cheese. We also shared fish and chips and crab cakes - all were delish.

Update on house: had an open house today and 8 couples showed up. Someone told our realtor he would buy the house now for 100K less than asking and she basically said don't waste our time. There is a couple who wants to talk to our realtor about financing (I think they saw the place at our first open house). We have another open house tomorrow. Will send an update soon!

Hmm...

I'm not sure what I find more interesting: the way the grass is lifted up so perfectly or the lawn giraffe.

Cleopatra is Bringing Sexy Back

Yesterday while Rob and I were driving around to open houses we started talking about the "dream house" in San Jose and Rob said "for all we know, once they put in the granite, we won't like it." We both turned to each other and said "yeah, probably not!".

I really am not worried about their final touches such as the carpet, granite, travertine floors, etc. but it must have had me a LITTLE worried because of the dream I had last night.

I had a dream that I went to see the progress that was being made on the house. It looked like no one was around on the construction site and the door was open (of course). I go inside and the granite is pretty nice. Its kind of brownish, goldish, blackish. The cupboards were green. Um...green? What were they thinking? And my favorite: there was a glass wall randomly in the family room and etched into the glass was hundreds of egyptian heads or pharaohs because, you know, egyptian themes are all the rage these days in home decor.

Possibly the Most Spoiled Dog - Ever

Buddy had a big day. He spent a few hours at doggie day camp and a few more hours at grandma and grandpas house where he received lots of love from grandma and grandpa and especially from auntie Kathy. Now we are home and Buddy can't decide which toy to play with. He managed to pull out numerous toys from his basket, choking himself on the rim of the basket during the process. He has decided on Mr. Giraffe.

Update on Potential Offer

So it turns out the offer the woman wanted to make was the highest she could afford, and too low for us so this one wasn't "the one." We had an open house this weekend even though there was a bad storm. Saturday brought in 4 couples and Sunday brought in 9. There were a couple people on Sunday who seemed "pretty interested". We are still planning to continue to have open houses every weekend in January. We can't wait until its sold or in escrow so we can put an offer on a house we love in willow glen/san jose!

Politics

Interesting site: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/page?id=3623346
Site says I should vote for Rudy Giuliani. Thoughts?

The Storm

Wow, "the storm of the century" took a toll on our for sale sign. Check it out! The storm also left a weird pink mist (look at the bottom of the pic). Oh wait, thats my finger. D'oh!

OMG

First of all, I know I haven't posted every day which is the goal I set for myself. Truth is, I don't think there is something interesting that happens everyday so I thought quality is better than quality.

Tonight turned out to be an exciting night! Our realtor called and told us someone wants to make an offer on our place! They want to put an offer in which is pretty low so we need to figure out what to tell them (which price we would accept). We are having an open house this weekend so hopefully we will get more interest. We also had another realtor call us today to look at the place (3rd realtor in 5 days). Part of me wants to accept a lower offer (higher than what they want to offer but lower than what we want) so we know it will sell and we can start focusing on the house we really like but the other part (maybe greedy part) wants to see what else we can get....

I'll keep you posted!

Vanity Plates

Dear BMW Owner:

I know the DMV sometimes cannot fulfill everyone's request for vanity plates because someone already has the desired plate message, but couldn't you have done something better than "Rya"? (in my head, I pronounce it Ria as in dia____).

Your neighbor,
Alyssa2

P.s. on a seperate topic, another realtor called us today and wants to show our house to their clients tomorrow - wooohooo! Its gonna be a good year!
