Sweet Lullabies.

Under the bridge downtown
Is where I drew some blood
Under the bridge downtown
I could not get enough
Under the bridge downtown
Forgot about my love
Under the bridge downtown
I gave my life away

This is one of the songs that Rob sings frequently to Charlie while trying to get him to fall asleep. Don't judge - it works! I think we'll make a point to stop singing this to him once he understands what the words mean.

Before & After: Downstairs Hallway.

*Minor change. We had some metallic gold and green paint there before and replaced with two different flat colors.

Before & After: Downstairs Guest Bedroom & Guest Bathroom.

I had posted about our house drama a couple weeks ago. The crew demo'd and restored the rooms but there was one small problem. They considered our paint job "custom". Call it what you like but it was ugly. The prior owners went a little sponge paint happy. You can check out the blue and cream sponge paint job and yellow and white sponge paint job here.

Well, since they were not able to replicate the beauty that was our sponge painted walls, they HAD to re-paint them and we go to choose the colors. We were actually going to hire someone to do some interior painting for us so this saved us a few hundred dollars however, in the end our homeowners insurance premium did increase (I think?) so its not a total win win situation.

I love how the rooms turned out. We did a very light green in the bedroom and darker green in the bathroom. We also got a new bedspread and shams from Target.

Stay tuned for more before and after pics!

Sick Baby.

Rob took Charlie to the doctor yesterday because he has had a hearty cough for a few days. They said its normal teething stuff and he also has a double ear infection but no fever. We got a prescription and will bring him back in 10 days. We actually already had an appointment that day for his 9-month checkup so I guess we'll kill two birds with one stone. They did weigh him and he is a little over 20 lbs!

The one good thing with him being sick is he has been sleeping longer at night. Last night, instead of sleeping for 10 hours, he slept for 12 hours (can I get an amen?). The prior two nights he slept for 11.5 hours. I hear him coughing at night but he's not waking up. He's also been sleeping longer during naps.

Charlie is still in good spirits but I hope he feels better soon!

A Very Special Supper Club.

Last month, we hosted Supper Club. We invited the Strombergs for their first Supper Club experience.

Jen, Dorothy and Mr. Charlie

Jen & Ashley chatting and wining.

Rob cooking - artichokes I think? This is what happens when I wait too long to blog about something. I forget the little details.

I'm not really a fish person, but Rob's halibut was pretty delish.

Everyone.

Nobody puts baby in the corner! Wait...look up at the picture I just posted. See the lovely lady in the gray sweatshirt with her hair up in a pony? That's our good friend Maryanne. You might not recognize her because she normally has every little hair strand perfectly flat ironed and layed flawlessly down her shoulders and her cute little Ann Taylor Loft tops to match her designer jeans. I'm not saying my good friend Maryanne has seen better days but something was a little....off. Oh and she declined wine. But thats ok because she is PREGNANT!!

I've been wanting to post this but she wanted to keep it on the downlow and I totally get that. I think she is about 17 weeks and should find out the gender soon! I can't wait!

After dinner and the very exciting news, we celebrated with root beer floats.
