Teaser

I didn't want to jinx anything but then I realized I pretty much told everyone and their mom about how we are in contract on a house in Morgan Hill. We should be closing in a couple weeks, just days before our place closes which makes me a litttttttle nervous. Anywho, I wanted to share a teaser photo of one of my favorite things about the house: the pool and spa! (photo courtesy of Gale Hammond) :-)

Moving to Morgan Hill?!

We are currently in contract on a house in Morgan Hill! If all goes well, we will be moved to Morgan Hill in about 30 days. Please keep your fingers crossed that our buyers don't back out! If they back out, we'll have to back out of the house in Morgan Hill.

House Update

We accepted an offer on our place and are currently in contract. We aren't pleased with the price but oh well.

We put an offer on a place in Morgan Hill and they countered.

We are putting in our final offer on the Morgan Hill house tomorrow. Should know by Saturday while we are in Long Beach celebrating Gracie's 1st birthday. Cross your fingers.

Fancy Sh-Mancy

Yesterday we received a wedding invitation in the mail and boy was it fancy! It really was a work of art. It reminded me of another invitation we received last year for a wedding in Egypt that we were bummed to miss. Both of these invites were for friends of Rob he met at Santa Clara University (round 2 at SCU). They are so neat I decided to take pictures and share them.

The first was from last year and was for Rob's friend Ahmed and his now wife Yasmine. They were married the day after Christmas last year in Egypt. We really wanted to go but due to timing (holiday) and dinero, we had to skip it. But one day, we WILL go to Egypt (hopefully). This wasn't an invitation card, it was an invitation box. So cool.

Below is the invitation we just received yesterday. This is for Rob's friend Nate and his soon to be wife Parya. They are getting married next month at the Fairmont in San Jose so we'll definately be there. Confession: as soon as I saw the necklace, I went to see if it was real. Its not but it's still really cool. I also love the crystals. So chic! I can probably still wrap that bad boy around my neck (or ankles?) and wear it to their wedding and wouldn't they be impressed! ;) kidding of course...

For someone who put their invitations together themselves, I can appreciate the work that went into these. And don't get me started on the postage!

Happy Birthday to Me

Rob planned a surprise trip for my birthday. All I knew was we were flying southwest and would fly on a Saturday and return the following Sunday. I had a hunch it was Vegas and guess what - my hunch was right!

We flew into town pretty early and late late on Sunday. We actually felt like we had a lot of time to see the sights. We stayed at the new Pilazzo hotel that is owned and connected to the Venetian. It was really nice. We ate at the Cut steakhouse in Pilazzo (a wolfgang puck restaurant). Apparently the one in LA is hard to get into but because the Las Vegas one is so new, its easier to get a reservations. It was y-u-m-m-y! Then we went to the Cirque Du Soleil Zumanity show, the "sensual side of Cirque". It was different but entertaining. Not the typical Cirque show, more of a burlesque show. After shopping and a little bit of gambling, we walked around and decided to check out the wax museum. It was actually quite entertaining!

Here are some highlights from the trip:

Napa

On Saturday, Rob and I met up with Sarah and Mike in Napa. They went up there from Fri-Sun. We met them at Mustards Grill. Three people recommended this place so we had to see what the fuss was all about. The place is kind of small and there was a wait but we had a reservation. The reservation was at 3:00 so I imagine this place is even busier around noon and dinner time. Well, this place did not disapoint. I had a warm goat cheese salad and potato gnocchi for my main entree. The gnocchi was the best I've ever had - don't tell my mother in law! I think the quality was the same, but the sauce at mustards was so yummy. It was orange - thats the best I can do to describe it. I went to their website to see what the description was on the sauce but they have an old menu posted.

Next after lunch/dinner we went to "Wineries of Napa Valley" which is a place where you can do some wine tasting and buying. That night they had a wine and chocolate event. We were able to taste 5 wines and chocolate. I'm not a wino, but I like to try new wines so I can know what I do like. Surprise surprise, I liked the super sweet dessert wine. I convinced Rob to try it and he liked it too so we bought a bottle. Apparently you can't get this bottle anywhere but this store. I even went to the winery's website and its not listed. I guess they weren't lying. The one we got was the Goosecross Cellars Orange Muscat. Oh, we also got a Napa magnet that was super cute. Then we went downtown and got some chocolate at a candy store and went browsing through a couple retail stores but had to leave to get home to Buddy.

Grating, its not just for Cheese Anymore

Have you heard of this? I saw an infomercial once and thought it looked disgusting. It basically showed a woman scrubbing her feet with a cheese grater. Well, it wasn' really a cheese grater but it did resemble one. It was finer and was in the shape of an egg. I was in Bed, Bath and Beyond last weekend and saw the Ped Egg and then a few days later I heard rave reviews (from real people) on the Peg Egg. So don't be jealous, but I spent part of my Friday night driving to Bed, Bath and Beyond to get some kitchen gadgets and the Ped Egg. I started going to town on my foot and was amazed at how quickly the calluses were coming off and it didn't hurt at all (as long as you use it on the really rough parts). I'm not saying I'm going to fill out Foot Model applicatoins any time soon, but my feet are getting sandal ready! Best $9.99 I ever spent!

I showed Rob my tray of dead skin and he was pretty grossed out, enough to change my mind about taking a picture and posting it on this website.
