15 Months Stats and Self Feeding Dramatizations.

Charlie had a dr.'s appointment last week. Here are his stats:

Weight: 24 lbs (55th percentile)
Height: 31 inches (50th percentile)
Head Circumference: 18.5 inches (50th percentile)

Charlie feeds himself things like toast, cheerios, etc. but he doesn't use a fork or spoon. She told me to start this now.

First attempt was with mac n cheese which was a semi-new food for him. I'll let you decide how it went down...

Then we switched to his all time favorite food: yogurt.

What a stinker!

Oh and per the doc, we need to work on: losing the bottle and putting milk in the sippy cup, getting him to sleep on his own (I know, we are long over due on this one), encouraging him to talk more, self feeding (see above on how that's working out for us) and dropping 1 bottle of milk a day (going from 3 to 2). Fun!

Don't even get me started on the speech topic. I'm working my butt off with Luke and I swear it's pointless. He wants to talk when he wants to talk. Sigh.

If it were up to me I'd probably advise feeding babies bottles until they're 12. YEARS, not months...that's probably why I'm not a doctor :)

Is it me or does your little boy look so grown up in these pictures. My little girl is the same age and I have yet to do any of the things recommended by your doc. Well with the exception of eating on her own. She's been working on that for about a month.

Jenny, I do think he looks grown up and your the second person in the past two days who has said that. He's slowly shedding the baby look and getting the full on kid/toddler look. And I think his pediatrician has ideal expectations but I take her advice and try it but often times I find Charlie just isn't ready yet, and thats ok. :)
