Toys.

When I was pregnant, Rob and I used to worry about Buddy taking Charlie's toys/stuffed animals and think they were his own. Buddy's favorite toys are the soft stuffed animal types that sometimes have squeaks in them. This is a common theme in baby toys so it was a valid concern. Luckily, this hasn't been a problem until Mimi bought Charlie a mixing bowl at the dollar store...

Buddy realized chewing on the hard plastic felt nice on his mouth - maybe he is teething too? Whenever Charlie gets a hold of the bowl, which is often, Buddy perks up and follows Charlie around until either 1.) Charlie drops the bowl or 2.) Buddy can wrap his teeth around it and run away with it.
Go ahead and take a minute to take in those lovely roll-licious thighs. Mmm, I want to kiss them.

Charlie, the little rascal, will sometimes taunt Buddy...

Up high

Down low

You're too slow!

Look at Buddy's little teeth, going in for the kill!

Final Score

Buddy: 1

Charlie: 0

That's Random.

I know I watch too many Dateline shows. Rob hates the show. Actually, he hates the narrator, the one that is overly dramatic but I like it. I feel like a kid sitting around a campfire listening to a spooky story. The guy is scary himself, I think he just turned 109 but don’t quote me on that.

When something doesn’t go as planned or things take longer than normal, I automatically assume the worst. I remember when I was little, sitting in the car waiting for my mom in the grocery store and thinking, “well, I guess a murderer went into the store and killed everyone, including my mom” because she was taking a long time. Or if Rob tells me he’ll be home in an hour and its an hour and a half later I assume he’s been in a car accident and think about how Charlie and I will get along without him. Do I know about all of our bank accounts? Do I need to call his company to inquire about his life insurance benefits? Will we lose that house? I have a wild/negative imagination at times.

So last night while I was feeding Charlie in his room before bed, Rob opens the bedroom door and is holding a cat. Note, we do not have a cat. Apparently when Rob opened the front door to let a visitor out, the cat thought our home was his. Luckily it had a collar on and Rob called the owner. This is where things get interesting…

So the owner is not home and will ask a neighbor to come to our house to get the cat. Minutes later, owner calls Rob to tell him she cannot get in touch with the neighbor so to please bring the cat to her house. She gave Rob the address and told him the side door to the garage was open and to let himself into the garage. Oh and the door from the garage to the house is open too, so please let yourself in to the house. Then, walk to the back of the house, let the cat in the backyard and close (not lock), close the door from the house to the backyard. Apparently they leave a door wide open?! So Rob does this and reports back to me.

Hello……am I the only one that is freaked out that Rob actually was ok with this plan? He agreed he thought it was odd that she wanted him to roam around her house but if I were him, I would have not set foot in there. I’d probably open the door to the garage, fling the cat in there and flee.

What if there was a murderer in the house, waiting for him so he can rob him and kill him? This didn’t enter Rob’s mind because he does not watch enough Dateline.

I heart Dateline but I do not want any of my friends or loved ones to have a debut on the show.

9 Month Stats.

I forgot to post Charlie's 9 month stats after his 10/13 dr.'s appointment. Here are his stats:

Weight: 20 lbs 1.5 oz (50th percentile)
Height: 28 3/4 inches (75th percentile)
Head circumference: 17 3/4 inches (50th percentile)

I'm shocked he is normal on weight and taller than average. He definately did not get that from his parents. Its typically the other way around, shorter and bigger. :)

7 Month Pictures.

We purchased a groupon awhile back and used them for his 7 month pics. We were going to use it when he turned 6 months but it just didn't work out so we just took 7 month pics. The $39 groupon included 10 jpgs and 1 8 x 10. Only the pic we chose for the 8 x 10 would be re-touched. I think they turned out cute and glad we "splurged" on the $39. I'm a little bummed because the jpgs we received are low resolution and they have the photographers logo on it. Aw well...at least we have the 1 big print.

Without further 'a do....

This last picture is the one we got printed as an 8 x 10.

Charlie's Blog.

I've really neglected Charlie's blog (link on the right side of this blog) but I'm slowly catching up. Its just a 365 photo a day blog, nothing more than that.

I decided to make that blog private. If you want an invite to view the blog, leave your email in a comment to this post.

Pumpkin Patch '10.

We finally made it to the patch yesterday. We were supposed to go two weeks ago but then Rob wasn't feeling well. The following weekend we were going to go but it was in the 90's and it just didn't seem right to go to the patch in a tank top. This weekend it finally started to feel like fall - it was in the mid 60's when we went to the patch yesterday and today it was raining - it was awesome. I have missed the rain.

Our little town's patch isn't like any other patch. To get to the parking area, you drive through rows and rows of corn stalks. Its sort of Children of the Corn-ish but its super fun.

I didn't take pictures of everything but this shall give you a taste of what its like...

We have tall people...

train rides...

Men with hands down their pants...

a carousel...

pumpkin pyramids

and much more like pony rides, hay rides, etc...

Out of all of the many pumpkins, I think our little pumpkin was the cutest.

Before & After: Master Bedroom

Note: If I waited until our room was tidy, bed was made and we didn't have crap all over to post the pictures, we would already be in need of another paint job because it would be years before that that would happen. So please deal with our messy bedroom, or look away now and just stop reading.

*we went from the basic neutral to a dark gray. I could have gone darker but I really like how it turned out.

Feeding the Dog.

We used to put Buddy's food here

Before we had one of these

It now must stay here until he demands to be fed (i.e. demands = barks at the kitchen table)
Oh the simpler times when dog food used to be able to be kept on the floor...
